Ruben enjoys that particular sound (and aroma) of coffee brewing in the morning. It helps him start the day with his characteristic positive attitude. His favorite word is hope; his least favorite word is never. So the Prouty team quickly learned to rely on him for getting things done.
With a degree from the Catholic University of Santo Domingo in diplomacy and international affairs, Ruben puts his diplomatic skills to work every day with clients. His favorite aspect of his Associate Consultant role at The Prouty Project is the great people, along with the organization’s unique culture. He relishes the fact that every day proves to be different.
Ruben’s wife Christina joins him in taking advantage of all the Twin Cities has to offer from fantastic food and beautiful lakes to hiking trails and professional sports. Beyond simply having fun with family and friends, the couple also volunteers for a number of community development organizations that work in the Dominican Republic and Latin America, because making the world a better place is important to both of them.
Speaking of making the world a better place — Ruben admires the Mirabal Sisters who played a key role in restoring democracy in the Dominican Republic in the 50’s and 60’s. These sisters have inspired the creation of many organizations that focus on keeping their legacy alive through social action. Interestingly, what Ruben values most in his friends is their honesty and time, which are two of the many attributes associated with anyone who achieves global recognition as a symbol for social justice.
