For nearly twenty years, I have been involved in all aspects of boating as a business. Back in 1992, I never dreamed that a job after college at Minnetonka Boatworks for the summer could develop into a career that includes owning my own business, Todd Nelson Services. I consider it an enormous blessing to be able to earn a living doing what I love. This includes being a part of the Prouty Team! It has been a privilege to work with Jeff and to help bring his vision for Think Tank II into reality…and out on to the lake with hundreds of Prouty associates over the years!
I grew up on a lake and have always loved all water sports. The first thing I want to do after a busy summer weekend is to get back out onto the water with my wife and three boys, ages 12, 10 and 6 years old. They are already talking about working for me someday!
I started T.J. Nelson Enterprises in 2001 to legitimize my love for boating, and I’ve been fortunate to turn that passion into a business. I have lived on or near water my entire life and love every aspect of boating. I have been a captain on Lake Minnetonka for over 20 years, and during that time of caring for other individuals’ boating needs, I have acquired a lot of knowledge of the lake and the people living on it. Being an associate of the Prouty Project has allowed me to share my knowledge with others; I enjoy providing a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere for their guests while on Think Tank II.
Brian is a Principal with The Retail Feedback Group (RFG). He has an extensive background in developing and managing research projects that help companies and nonprofit organizations better understand their customers, employees, markets, and image. Brian previously led the research, public relations and charitable foundation functions for a Fortune 500 company, and holds an M.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Minnesota. Brian is also active in the community serving as Board Chair of Hands of Freedom, a nonprofit helping the poor in India, as well as Vice-Chair of Loaves & Fishes and as a director on the board of a youth and family camp in Iowa.
